What a Friday the 13th it was! Our bad luck started with a paperwork glitch with the buses, so we missed our band performance at BHS. While we were quite bummed (well, OK, Mrs. Plato was probably the most bummed of all), the students were incredibly flexible, and I am proud of how they just rolled with the punches. Sometimes, things do not go as planned! Lesson of the day. Friday Fun made up for it a bit. Here's a video of the student-led train to Zumba music in our room. Too funny!
Social Studies: Empire State Building simulation: students got to see just how far up the Empire State Building they would get in 5 minutes. We also calculated how long it would take us to climb all 102 stories using the stairs: about 20 minutes on average!
Literacy block: We finished coming up with answers to Chapter 3 together and discussed our class project for Rules. More to come! We also had rotations today. Students should complete Week 25 Handwriting for homework.
Mark charts went home for a signature, attached to a brief survey from our PTO. Thanks in advance for answering the few questions. We really value your input!

ISAT Week, Day 3
One more day! The students have been troopers. It has been quite a week! Today students completed Reading Session 2 and Math Session 2. Tomorrow, we finish with Math Session 3 (two extended response questions) and Reading Session 3 (with an extended response).

Students were asked to get their planners signed tonight.
If you wish to donate to our BBQ basket for the basket raffle, we are still taking donations. Anything that would work for a BBQ is A-OK with us. The raffle will be at next Thursday's Chili Supper/Book Fair. Hope to see you there!
